I enjoy trying new things and sometimes curiosity gets the best of me. Armed with a bachelor's degree in business and 9 years of managing an engineering office, I woke up one morning craving a creative change. That thought transformed into a curiosity for web design. I liked the idea of being able to unleash my creativity while challenging the left-brain with mark-up and programming. I have not looked back with regret. The world of web is definitely an exciting place to be!

When I am not glued in front of the computer, I love to seek adventure. I want to travel the world! I try to get away at least once a year. When my first digital SLR was placed in my hands, I was hooked on photography. I am a big fan of macro photography, though bugs do not like to stay still long enough for me to photograph them. You can also find me in front of a sewing machine if I am not out hiking, biking, playing Ultimate or curling. You can follow me through my blog.

I pride myself on being able to manage my time well and getting the work done. I believe that communication is the key to a successful project. Although I am new to the field, I have acquired a sound foundation of the basics from Thomas Borzecki, my programming instructor at Humber College.

I am able to create a website from design in Photoshop to implementation in a variety of server and client technologies like PHP, MySQL, XHTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript and jQuery. My tools include Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator and my new Wacom Tablet. The 6-month instensive Web Design, Development and Maintenance program at Humber's School of Media Studies provided me with the basics which I can apply immediately. With more practice through real-world experience, I will accomplish great things. It doesn't take me long to pick up new skills, and I have a solid work ethic. I'm friendly and dependable and I am passionate about designing great websites.

If you are curious about what I did prior to being a web designer/developer, ask me for my resume (a.k.a Curriculum Vitae for the fancy folks). I am actually in the process of updating it with my new skills, which is why it is currently unavailable online.
